To all our friends and family,
This is our new blog!!! Yes, I do use extra exclamation marks. Hopefully this blog will be more successful with both Kailey and myself writing and keeping you all up to day.
So I think for the first post we should summarize our biggest change in our lives. For those of you living in a cave or who haven't heard from either of us in a few months we have a new member to our Idaho family. Our daughter Ellery Rose Wingfield came into our lives on February 8th, 2011 she was really anxious to get here and arrived 16 weeks early at 1 pound 6 ounces. She came home on May 17th after 99 days in the NICU. There were plenty of ups and downs during her stay but fortunately we had excellent nurses and doctors at our local hospital (EIRMC).
Since being home Kailey and I have been able to breath a little easier knowing our little girl is part of our family at home. Unfortunately her lungs weren't quite ripe and she is still on oxygen. She she is hooked up to a machine that was invented by the Devil himself, in case you don't know already it beeps often and loudly. Ellery is doing good she is up to 12 pounds 12 ounces. Hopefully she will come off the oxygen in the months to come.
Our lives have changed drastically since she came home and I wouldn't change it for the world. We both love having our little girl home finally. Both of our parents have visited since Ellery came home and that was nice because it gave us chances to get out and interact with other people. Since their visits we have been using Skype to keep them up to date on seeing Ellery and us.
Kailey joined Weight Watchers a week ago and both of us have lost already. I may end up joining the online version. We are both looking forward to living healthier lives. Unfortunately we have the Food Network channel which has some of the worse shows to watch while on a diet...so much delicious food and can't eat a lot of it I'm looking at you "triple d".
I hope to be on here often and keep you all up to date on our lives with blog post and pictures to come.
Love and kisses,
~Rick
