Week 3 and still writing!!

Bonjour!

Hello again, this is Rick back writing.
This week I read the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, it was very reminescent of the Running Man by Stephen King. It was pretty brutal of a book, lots of violence which kept me turning pages. I was fearful it'd be another Twilight rip off with a girl dreaming over a dreamy 1940's horror movie monster. I am really glad it was nothing like that, instead it was about survival in a shitty circumstance. I'd give it a solid B.

Today has been a rainy day here in Idaho for a change. It really made me feel homesick for Oregon. I typically don't get terribly homesick but today was rough mainly that smell of rain made me miss Oregon. Maybe someday we will get back West.

So everyone has been saying how much Ellery looks like Kailey, well awhile back my parents sent me a baby picture and Kailey has a picture on there I will let you decide.

Rick's baby picture.

Ha got you with that one, didn't I? Just seeing if you are still paying attention.

Now judge us!!! Who does she look like? Now that I look I have a funny feeling I will lose this argument, but don't tell Kailey. I can say she looks a heck of a lot more like me when she is angry.

Since we have been house bound we have been watching a lot of movies and television shows from Netflix. We started the True Blood Series and Supernatural. I read the first True Blood book and it was definately not my typical book of choice. Kailey has since tried to convince me to read the Anita Blake series, another vampire series, but I couldn't get into it enough to continue. Too many womanly thoughts in both those series for me to handle. Typically I don't enjoy books with female protagonist because I can't relate to them. I will continue the Hunger Games series though.

That was a little tangent there, now where was I...oh right TV and movies. We watched a terrible movie called The Tourist last night, it was one of the worse movies I have seen in a long time. Don't watch it. I watched the Legend of the Guardians, that movie about owls. It was ok, I liked the graphics a lot. We watched Black Swan also and holy shit that is one fucked up movie. I am glad I saw it because everyone has been talking it up but I never want to watch that movie again.

Tomorrow is a big day. Ellery's last eye appointment did not go so well. If her eyes have not improved then she will have to have surgery later this week. Kailey and I are both really upset and worried because if she has surgery she will go back on the vent, which means another stay at the hospital. So if you pray, keep us in your prayers.

Please feel free to comment on our post and let us know your reading. Hopefully the comments will encourage us to write more.

Love and kisses,
~Rick

  1. When Ellery was smaller I thought she looked like Kailey but now I think she looks much more like you. As evidenced by the Ellery listening to Rick sing picture!
